Annuity Information in an AI World

Today’s topic is annuity information in an AI world. Artificial intelligence is all the rage, and when you go to your search engine and type it in, there it is, artificial intelligence.
All I’m going to tell you right now is that with The Annuity Man, AI means Actual Individuals.
You’re not going to get a 1-800 number where you can’t reach anybody. At my office, we have actual living, breathing human beings. Everyone in that office is licensed in all 50 states. They’re not on commission; they’re on salary. That means they have no incentive to sell, sell, sell.
But AI, it’s tough right now when it comes to annuity information. A lot of the calls my team tells me about start with people saying, “Well, I looked this up online, and AI said this about this annuity.”
What we’re finding out, unfortunately, is that the majority of the time, AI is incorrect. People are making bad decisions or bad assumptions based on what they read.
One of my team members told me recently, “Can you call this gentleman? He’s pounding the table saying that AI is right.” Of course, it wasn’t.
I’ve been doing this a long, long time, and I had to walk him off the AI cliff and say, “I hate to break it to you, but whatever AI engine that was, it’s wrong.”
The Problem With AI
Remember, AI is just scraping the internet for information, annuity information or whatever you’re searching for. That could be good or bad, right or wrong, accurate or completely off base.
The point is, you have to be careful. Sure, you might start your search there — you don’t have a choice anymore — but you can’t stop there. Because yes, AI can help you get started, but it can’t finish the process for you.
How We Use AI the Right Way
At The Annuity Man, we do use AI, but we use it to get you where you need to go. AI helps guide you through our website so you can connect quickly with a human being, because for us, AI stands for Actual Individuals.
We’re not against technology. Like every other business, we use it to make your customer experience smoother, faster, and easier to navigate. But at the end, or even at the beginning of the process, you’re going to talk to a real person. An Actual Individual at The Annuity Man.
If we don’t know the answer, we’ll find it. But most likely, we already do. And if you say, “Hey, I saw this covered in one of your videos or blogs,” we’ll pull it up and talk through it with you.
A Warning About AI Advice
I just want to put a warning out there, because we’re seeing a trend with our callers and clients, and we’ve got zillions of clients, that’s zillions with a Z.
People are saying, “AI told me this.”
Where it gets really dangerous is when AI starts answering questions about taxes or retirement distributions. We’ve seen cases where AI gives completely wrong answers about the tax ramifications of certain annuities.
And listen, anytime you have a tax question, you don’t ask an agent. You don’t ask an AI. You go to a CPA or a tax lawyer. Period. Nod your head. That’s the first thing.
The Bigger Picture
Right now, we’re in what I’d call the early stages of a technological renaissance, artificial intelligence is everywhere. It’s driving markets, creating new industries, and changing how businesses operate.
We don’t know where it’s all going to end up. Some of it’s exciting, some of it’s scary.
But when it comes to your retirement, when it comes to making decisions about how you’ll live the rest of your life, you can’t let AI make those calls for you.
You can use it as a starting point, but you have to finish with a real person. Finish with someone like The Annuity Man, someone who can walk you through the right decision, on your terms, without pressure, and with everything in writing.
The Future Is Interesting, But Stay Grounded
AI is pretty cool, no doubt. Maybe in the future, The Annuity Man will deliver your policy with a drone. No, we’re still using FedEx unless they start using drones. That’d actually be kind of cool, though I’m not sure it would be legal.
Anyway, it’s an interesting time. I was telling someone the other day, believe it or not, I’m old. When I went to college, there was no internet. Three or four TV channels, no cable. Then came iPhones, and now we’re in another new era: artificial intelligence. And it’s creeping into everything. Every business. Every corner of life.
I was in San Francisco recently, took a taxi, and there was no driver. I’m filming it, thinking, “This is wild.” But that’s where we are.
Why You Still Need People
Even with all that progress, when it comes to annuities, and really, all financial products, you still have to dig in. You still have to do your homework. You still can’t take someone’s word for it, and that includes AI. You have to talk to an Actual Individual.
That’s what AI stands for at The Annuity Man.
The Bottom Line
Use artificial intelligence as a starting point. Let it help you find general information.
But finish with real people, licensed, experienced professionals who care about your outcome, not just the algorithm.
Get your information from real sources: actual videos, real blogs, and the free books we offer at The Annuity Man . Then make your decision on your terms and on your timeframe.
My name is Stan The Annuity Man. AI stands for Actual Individuals. See you next time.
