Get the COMDEX Ranking and Scoring System Report

Annuity Calculator - StanTheAnnuityMan

The Annuity Man® uses the COMDEX rankings and scoring system as the primary source for determining annuity carrier safety and claims-paying ability.

This is a paid-for service that The Annuity Man® offers as a FREE PDF download to you, and with no sign-up requirements. This list is updated every month and comes from a fantastic data-driven company (Ebix/Vital Signs) that follows and analyzes all U.S. based life insurance/annuity companies. Remember that all annuity contracts are issued by a life insurance company, so the COMDEX list covers all U.S. based issuers.

So what is a COMDEX ranking or rating? The COMDEX rating system is a compilation of the top 4 ratings agencies/services. Those companies are A.M. Best, Moody’s, Standard & Poors, and Fitch. Weiss rating service is not included and a decision made by Ebix/Vital Signs.

COMDEX is a quick and efficient way to look at and evaluate a company’s financial strength, in addition to the company’s overall financial stability and financial obligations.

COMDEX looks at all of the 4 ratings and assigns a score from 1 to 100, with 100 being the safest and best score. In my opinion, the numbering scoring system is an easy to understand rated companies, especially when compared to the typical lettering (A, B, A+, B+) rating systems used by the four agencies/services.

COMDEX is a quick and efficient way to look at and evaluate a company’s financial strength, in addition to the company’s overall financial stability and financial obligations. For example, if you are deciding between two carriers that offer similar contractual guarantees and one has a COMDEX score of 80 and the other has a score of 60...it’s a pretty obvious choice which one you should choose.

Another service offered by The Annuity Man® is the ability to dig further and deeper into a specific carrier’s financials. With our relationship with Ebix/Vital Signs, we can provide you with as much financial information as needed to make a good decision. This deeper dive data request is approved by Stan The Annuity Man® himself, so you will need to schedule a call with him to have a one-on-one discussion.

COMDEX is just another educational tool that we provide to our clients and future clients, just like we do with our 7 published books on annuities, Stan The Annuity Man’s YouTube daily videos, The Annuity Man® Podcast that is released every week, and Stan’s daily blog posts on TheAnnuityMan.com. Also, Stan is a contributing writer for TheStreet.com and other national sites and is the most sought after speaker on the sometimes controversial topic of annuities.

When it comes to the possibility of purchasing an annuity (regardless of type), the only urgency is for you to fully understand the product for its unique benefits and limitations and feel comfortable with the claims-paying ability of the issuing carrier. COMDEX can definitely help you with this vital analytical process.

If your advisor or insurance agent is only showing you one rating agency (ex. AM Best), then they are doing you a disservice or are not well informed. You always need to look at all 4 rating services and the COMDEX rankings to make an informed decision on the claims-paying ability of the annuity company/carrier you are considering.

Feel free to schedule a call with Stan The Annuity Man® himself to have a full discussion of COMDEX rankings, carrier rating agencies, and the claims-paying ability of the company(s) you are interested in. Speak with the top independent annuity agent in the United States, and called by many as “America’s Annuity Agent.” There’s no obligation or cost for this incredible service and insights from the undisputed thought leader in the annuity industry. Be prepared for the brutal truths and facts from Stan The Annuity Man®.
