Hi there, Stan The Annuity Man, America's annuity agent, licensed in all 50 states and Puerto Rico,
0:04
founder of CGO, Contractual Guarantees Only. We only look at
0:07
what a policy will do, not what a policy might do. So, contractual guarantees only.
0:12
Today's topic is a good one: annuity quotes.
0:16
You're saying, "Stan, I want to see quotes. I want to see them all. I want to see the best."
0:19
We're going to show you how to do that after this.
0:28
Okay, so annuity quotes. You can go to my site, theannuityman.com, and you can run quotes on
0:34
SPIAs, DIAs, QLACs, Income Riders. You can see the best MYGA, fixed-rate annuity.
0:40
We do not show indexed annuity quotes because that's like showing paintings to blind people.
0:44
No offense to blind people. It's just garbage because it's so nebulous. It's complicated.
0:52
If you want to go over indexed annuities, or actually read a book that I've written
0:56
on indexed annuities, you can go to my site at theannuityman.com
1:01
and download that book on indexed annuities. If you want to, you can
1:04
schedule a call with me. You can send me an email at [email protected], and we can discuss it.
1:10
But everything else, you can get a quote.
1:13
Now, we use indexed annuities for the delivery of income riders if you need income in the future,
1:19
but we don't discuss the indexed annuity. It's nothing more than
1:21
a delivery system for the contractually guaranteed income rider.
1:25
And remember what we do: contractual guarantees only. You own an annuity for what it will do,
1:29
not what it might do. And the "will do" is the income rider guarantees that are attached.
1:35
Alright? So annuity quotes.
1:39
One thing I'm going to talk about is there's not one annuity that's better than the other.
1:44
I did a video recently. I guess you can type it into the search bar: "Annuities Are Commodities."
1:50
It's just talking about how there's not one that's better than the other.
1:54
You quote all carriers for the highest contractual guarantee. If it's
1:57
lifetime income, it's A+ or better, and then the highest number. It's really that
2:01
simple. I don't care what the name of the company is. I don't care about the
2:03
brochure. I don't care about any of that nonsense. It's A+ or better and the number.
2:09
I mean, it's that simple every single time.
2:11
So, when you're getting annuity quotes, let's take MYGAs for an example.
2:17
Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuities are the annuity industry's version of a CD.
2:20
If you go to my site, you can pull up your state because everything is filtered at the state level
2:26
and issued at the state level. Select your state and the duration you're looking at.
2:29
The durations typically are 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-, and 10-year guarantees.
2:34
Those interest rates are guaranteed for the term that you choose.
2:37
They change pretty quickly and fluidly. If you go to my site, you'll see what's
2:42
current for today. We list them from top to bottom, top guaranteed interest rate on down.
2:48
You'll see the interest rates with MYGAs because we're dating the company, not marrying them. Like
2:52
lifetime income, I might do a little bit less than an A+, but it's on a case-by-case basis.
2:57
So you'd have to schedule a call and speak with me about what we're currently offering.
3:02
But I show everything on our site with quotes. I'm not picking and choosing. I'm showing everything.
3:09
That doesn't mean I'm recommending everything. That's very important.
3:13
I personally look under the hood financially of all these companies. I'm looking at,
3:17
if it's a MYGA, can they back up the claim for that specific duration? A+ or better
3:21
for lifetime income. Can they back up the claim? Absolutely. A+ or better. No exceptions on that.
3:27
Annuity quotes change like a gallon of milk. Every 7 to 10 days, quotes change. So,
3:35
you can lock them in. We can lock those quotes in for you if you want to make a decision.
3:39
If you see a quote that you like or if you want to move forward, we're going to lock in that quote.
3:44
But they change.
3:45
They change because, on lifetime income, for example,
3:49
annuity companies are looking for specific age ranges.
3:52
Let me give you a correlation. When you build a portfolio stock-wise,
3:55
you have small-cap, large-cap, mid-cap, international, value, whatever,
4:00
and you have specific allocations in those.
4:03
With life insurance companies issuing lifetime income annuities, they're looking at age ranges.
4:07
So think of yourself, if it's joint, you and your spouse, in a football stadium full
4:13
of people your age and your spouse's age. You're sharing the risk. You're pooling the risk, etc.
4:19
Now, if that stadium is full, then the annuity company
4:24
is going to lower their guarantee to avoid attracting you.
4:27
But the reason we quote all carriers is someone's always wanting your age range.
4:32
So, because it's a commodity, we're going to quote all of those carriers because
4:36
they're going to have an aggressive quote contractually to attract your business.
4:41
So don't go into a quote saying,
4:42
"You know, I really like XYZ Company and their logo. I really like that. That's cool.
4:47
They got this fish. It jumps out of the water. Love that. Love that commercial."
4:51
You don't buy annuities like that.
4:53
You buy them for the highest contractual guarantee, A+ or better on lifetime income.
4:57
And then with MYGAs, we go on a case-by-case basis.
5:02
The key, though, with quotes is there's a lot of competitor sites that do quotes on
5:06
non-guaranteed products. I don't get it. I don't get it.
5:11
How do you show that?
5:13
We don't do that because we only show what a contract will do, not what it might do.
5:17
The "might do" is fluffy nonsense. It's crap.
5:21
It's sales-agent crap. It's what's wrong with this business. It's why people sometimes get
5:28
a bad feeling about annuities and annuity salespeople. They're talking about dreams and
5:33
upfront bonuses and what it could do and what it should do and what it can do and what it has done.
5:37
Who cares?
5:38
It's all about what it will do.
5:40
So, you should totally ignore any type of quotes
5:44
that show hypotheticals because that's crazy. That's crazy.
5:48
That's like putting together a workout plan to lift every day,
5:52
and then you get to day seven and figure out you haven't lifted the past six.
5:57
It's nonsense. Okay.
5:58
Annuities are contracts. Annuities are transfer-risk products. Annuity quotes reflect the
6:05
highest contractually guaranteed transfer-of-risk numbers for your specific situation.
6:11
Also, be careful on the income rider quotes. Sometimes there will be companies out there that
6:16
have what I call a teaser rate, meaning it looks really high, but at year 10 it lowers.
6:22
One of the reasons you've got to speak with us is we're going to tell you that.
6:25
We're going to tell you about the situations out there
6:28
that kind of shouldn't be there. In my opinion, those products should not be there.
6:34
I had an executive call me the other day, and he goes, "Well,
6:36
Stan, let me tell you what that teaser rate is for."
6:39
I know what it's for, player. Okay? I know what it's for.
6:42
But what it's doing is confusing the public.
6:45
We've made the decision to show it on a quote, and then if you say, "I really like that one," I'll
6:50
go, "Well, if you live past year 10, it's going to go in half," or it's going to be decreased.
6:56
What we're going to do, if you choose to work with us, and I hope you do, because there's no
7:00
obligation, we're not going to chase you, it's not going to be some high-pressure thing,
7:04
we're just going to tell you the truth about these products.
7:06
Isn't that what you want?
7:08
With annuity quotes, you might say, "Well, I thought I was getting the truth."
7:11
With the vast majority of them, you are. SPIAs, DIAs, QLACs, MYGAs,
7:16
I mean, those are rock solid, okay?
7:20
But you can structure them a myriad of ways.
7:22
A lot of people think that immediate annuity quotes are only life-only.
7:27
"When I die, the annuity company keeps the money."
7:29
No. There's numerous ways to structure it.
7:32
We can structure it so that 100% of any unused money goes lump sum to the listed beneficiaries.
7:37
We can structure it so that you can lovingly handcuff your beneficiaries
7:41
and just have payments go to them until the money's gone.
7:44
But we can structure the product so that the evil
7:48
annuity company never keeps a penny under any circumstance.
7:51
You get to customize that annuity quote.
7:55
Annuity quotes, yes, they're commodity products. Annuity quotes
7:59
can be manipulated, unfortunately, by others to show you different things.
8:04
I'll give you an example: Single Premium Immediate Annuity quotes or Deferred Income Annuity quotes,
8:09
which are immediate annuities that you defer, in essence.
8:13
You might see a percentage.
8:16
"Okay, I put this in an immediate annuity. I'm getting this percentage."
8:20
That's misleading. Okay?
8:22
That's not yield. That's actually a numerical reflection of your life expectancy.
8:29
So, I had a guy come the other day and say,
8:30
"Well, I'm looking for about a 7.8% return on my immediate annuity."
8:34
What are you talking about, Fred? A 7.8% return? No.
8:39
We're talking about the payout for the rest of your life.
8:42
I don't know ROI until you die.
8:44
But there's no yield. Don't think of that as a yield number.
8:47
Yield or MYGAs, where you get a specific interest rate
8:51
for a specific period of time that you can peel off.
8:55
So, annuity quotes. You need to go into that quote answering two questions:
8:59
What do you want the money to contractually do?
9:02
When do you want those contractual guarantees to start?
9:04
And also knowing that annuities solve for four things. The acronym is PILL:
9:08
P, stands for principal protection.
9:10
I, stands for income for life.
9:11
L, stands for legacy.
9:12
The other L, stands for long-term care.
9:14
Don't go into a quote looking for market growth. Don't go into a quote
9:18
looking for potential. Don't go into a quote looking for theoreticals or hypotheticals.
9:24
Go into a quote looking for the contractual guarantees.
9:28
Now, inflation, that's a whole other story.
9:31
There's not an annuity on the planet that adjusts for inflation. You already
9:34
own the best inflation annuity on the planet. That's Social Security.
9:37
"Well, I want it to increase."
9:38
Great. Then you're going to build a building for the annuity company
9:41
because they're not going to give that away.
9:43
Typically, it's a 7- to 9-year break-even point, depending on your age,
9:46
to get back to the same level as the same annuity that didn't have the increase attached to it.
9:52
There's no philanthropist at annuity companies.
9:55
Don't go into a quote looking for bonuses.
9:57
"What's the highest bonus?"
9:58
You're the sucker at the table.
10:00
If you're looking for the highest-bonus product out there,
10:03
you are either the sucker at the table or an annuity agent.
10:07
Because most annuity agents say, "Well, I'm going to look for the highest bonus
10:09
and the highest commission, then I'm going to go sell it."
10:12
Great.
10:13
Means nothing.
10:14
Annuity quotes are about the number. Annuity quotes are about the guarantee. Annuity quotes
10:19
are about the transfer of risk. Annuity quotes are about quoting all carriers for the highest number.
10:24
At the time of this taping, AI for the Annuity Man means Actual Individuals or Achieved Intelligence.
10:33
You're going to have to talk to us, and you should talk to us so you don't make a mistake.
10:38
Will AI eventually get there? Yeah. We're embracing it more than anybody.
10:42
But at the end of the day, I make all the calls. I make all the recommendations.
10:47
Go to my site, theannuityman.com. Download the books. Run quotes.
10:51
You can run your annuity quotes there.
10:52
Schedule a call with us. You might get me.
10:55
One last thing. Above my head spinning is a video I did called Why People Still Hate Annuities.
11:01
Yes, I went there. I had to go there. I needed to go there.
11:04
You know, the annuity industry, in front of the biggest demographic tidal wave of all time,
11:10
somehow is screwing it up. It's screwing up the message.
11:14
The message should be contractual guarantees.
11:17
But no. The annuity industry wants to talk about growth, potential growth, potential upside. That's crazy.
11:23
That video there will explain a lot, and it's a fun one as well.
