Hi there, Stan the annuity man.
0:02
America's annuity agent licensed in all
0:04
50 states and Puerto Rico.
0:08
I like saying it like that sometimes.
0:10
Sometimes people get mad. I got an email
0:12
today said do not say Puerto Rico like
0:15
that.
0:17
Like what? You know, like ending it with
0:19
a really high pitch. Calm down out
0:22
there, everybody. Okay. I don't I I
0:25
don't speak a lot of Spanish. Dr. B. Dr.
0:27
B is here. He's from V. He speaks fluent
0:29
Venezuelan. I think that's Spanish. You
0:31
know what I'm saying? What is a
0:33
charitable gift annuity? Good question.
0:35
I get that question a lot. Love that
0:39
product. But here's the spoiler alert.
0:42
Don't and can't sell it, but I still
0:45
love it. And I'm going to tell you about
0:46
it after this.
0:55
So, I call them CGAs, charitable gift
0:59
annuities.
1:00
Say, Dan, what in the world is that?
1:04
Well, think about your favorite charity
1:06
of choice,
1:08
um, Humane Society, Salvation Army,
1:13
um, cancer organization, your hospital,
1:17
good old state university where you
1:19
graduated from. Most of those
1:22
organizations offer what's called a
1:24
charitable gift annuity. Now, they come
1:27
in a couple of forms, but let's talk
1:28
about the one for income. Okay, most
1:31
people will say to buy an immediate
1:34
annuity or charitable gift annuity. Good
1:38
question. Quote both. Uh we can quote
1:40
the the immediate annuity one for you
1:42
247365.
1:44
But I would go to your charity of choice
1:47
and say ask, "Do you offer a charitable
1:50
gift annuity?"
1:52
Now, here's how it works in a nutshell.
1:55
You can go to Google charitable gift
1:57
annuity organization. There is a great
2:00
group that oversees all of this. Um, but
2:04
in essence, the the organization, the
2:07
501c3, which means nonprofit, the
2:10
nonprofit will pay you a lifetime income
2:13
stream, but when you die, they keep the
2:15
money. That's cool, right?
2:18
I work with a um a college in Michigan.
2:21
not political. I know they they lean
2:23
right a little bit, but I love them to
2:26
death. It's a college called Hillsdale
2:29
College, and I helped them uh with their
2:32
charitable gift annuities. They already
2:34
had them in place. I kind of gave them
2:35
some insight on how to how to market it
2:38
to their donors, and they've done great.
2:41
They've done fantastic. Run by that
2:43
university is run by a very smart man, a
2:45
very good man, Dr. Larry Arn. you ever
2:48
want to hear him speak? He is fantastic.
2:51
He's the foremost expert in the world on
2:53
Winston Churchill. Fun fact, but the guy
2:57
is is really dynamic. But people need
3:02
lifetime income. You only I mean the
3:04
only annuity that most people have is
3:05
social security, which is the best
3:07
inflation annuity on the planet. And
3:08
yes, it is an annuity.
3:11
If you're fortunate enough to work for a
3:12
company, one of the 9% that offer
3:14
pensions, or if you're state worker,
3:16
government worker, federal, military,
3:17
whatever, you have a pension. But most
3:19
people don't.
3:21
But if you want to do good and get a
3:23
lifetime income stream, a charitable
3:25
gift annuity is something you might want
3:26
to look into. The other thing about
3:28
CGAs, which I love, is there's and you
3:30
got to work with your tax person, your
3:32
tax um advisor, CPA, tax lawyer, not an
3:36
advi, not an agent. Not me, even though
3:38
I know a lot about it. You have to have
3:40
someone who is um licensed to give tax
3:43
advice.
3:45
There's big tax savings with CG with
3:48
CGAs. In other words, not only you going
3:50
to get a lifetime income stream, you're
3:52
going to get tax deductions.
3:55
Now, you have to make sure uh with a
3:58
lifetime income stream that the 501c3,
4:00
the charitable gift organization, good
4:02
old State U, whatever, um can back up
4:06
that lifetime income stream. But but the
4:08
the Charitable Gift Annuity Association,
4:11
they're tracking a lot of that. You can
4:13
ask um your 501c3 charity that you're
4:16
approaching for financials. They'll give
4:18
you those. They're very transparent. But
4:21
a lot of you don't know that CGA are
4:23
even available because agents don't make
4:25
any money off of it, which means agents
4:27
don't talk about it, which means is why
4:28
I talk about it. They're good. I want
4:32
you to have sufficient lifetime income
4:35
stream. I want your income floor to be
4:37
sufficient for you to live comfortably
4:39
for the rest of your life. And it might
4:42
be a combination of of one of the four
4:44
types of annuities that provide lifetime
4:46
income. SPSD issu income writers and
4:51
a charitable gift annuity from your
4:53
favorite um charity.
4:56
Why wouldn't you do that? It's worth
4:58
looking under the rock. Long It's not a
5:02
long story, but it's a good one. A
5:03
gentleman called me the other day from
5:05
Arizona and had a cat trillion dollars
5:08
and was looking to to do a bunch of SPAS
5:13
and I got to know him a little bit and
5:14
I'm I'm always asking questions. All
5:16
right, tell me a little bit about
5:17
yourself. I want to just kind of know
5:18
the general, you know, you're married to
5:20
kids and this and that. He goes, you
5:21
know, I'm you know, I love I love the
5:24
university I went to. If it wasn't for
5:26
that university, I wouldn't be where I'm
5:27
at. And I asked him the name. He told
5:29
me, I said, you ever asked them if they
5:31
had a charitable gift annuity?
5:33
He said, 'What was that? And I told him
5:35
and he said, 'N no, but I'll call. I
5:36
said, 'd do that. Call him and and see.
5:38
Long story short, I only got half the
5:40
sale of the of the amount. But it was
5:43
great because the guy in essence gifted
5:46
all this money to the university and got
5:49
a lifetime income stream. It was great.
5:53
And set it up with his him and his wife.
5:55
A lot of these CGAs
5:57
can be customized with your 501c3
6:00
nonprofit.
6:02
Once again, fantastic. There's no
6:04
commissions, there's no agents.
6:06
Typically, these universities or
6:08
organizations, nonprofits, they'll have
6:10
a person that is uh ahead of the head of
6:13
the charitable gift foundation at that
6:16
university or at that organization.
6:19
And that's great. I think I saw the
6:21
other day like PBS, public broadcasting,
6:24
and don't get political, doesn't matter,
6:26
okay? I love their documentaries, but
6:29
they had I saw something the other day
6:31
and at the end they said if you want to,
6:32
you know, look into our charitable gift
6:34
annuity, please contact blah blah blah.
6:35
And the person's name top popped up. I'm
6:37
like, that's cool. That's a cool way to
6:40
give money. One of the interesting
6:42
things that's going to happen in the
6:45
next 5 to 10 years is the amount of
6:47
money that's going to be transferred
6:49
from the boomers to
6:53
the uh the the beneficiaries or to
6:56
charitable organizations.
6:59
Regardless, all of us are going to need
7:02
lifetime income streams. Whether we have
7:03
mas like me and we're just peeling off
7:05
the interest in the future, not now
7:06
because it's the annuity, man. We're
7:08
still rolling. But, you know, when
7:10
somebody taps me on the shoulder and
7:12
says, "Stan, every, you know, you're
7:14
starting to drool now. Stop. Please
7:15
stop." Um, when that happens, I mean, we
7:18
have MAS. We'll just peel off the
7:19
interest and maybe we'll do the
7:21
charitable gift annuity. But I just
7:22
wanted to let you know that it is a
7:24
viable good strategy. It's such a good
7:28
strategy that agents aren't involved,
7:30
which probably makes it a really good
7:32
strategy. And there's no nefarious
7:34
person at your 501c3
7:38
nonprofit, you know, hospital or cancer
7:41
society, humane society, good old state
7:44
university that you went to.
7:47
Give them a call. It's worth finding
7:49
out. If you need my help, go to my site
7:51
at theanuityman.com. Shoot me an email
7:53
stantheanuityman.com.
7:54
Schedule a call. You can also go to our
7:56
site and run comparison quotes. So, if
7:59
they give you a CGA quote for lifetime
8:01
income, you can run an immediate annuity
8:03
quote on our site. You can run it two
8:05
ways. You can run it full with your name
8:07
and all that stuff, or you can do what
8:08
we call a quick quote, which is new to
8:10
the industry that you don't have to put
8:12
in any information. You get a you get a
8:14
quote right then. We're the only ones.
8:17
I'm sure they'll people people will try
8:18
to copy, but the the um consultants are
8:21
going to have a hard time with that one
8:22
because they're like, "Well, we're not
8:24
we're not capturing any of their
8:25
information. We can't cross market to
8:27
them." Uh-huh.
8:29
Game on, player. Annuity game on.
8:33
I'm changing this industry for the
8:34
better. For the better. People are going
8:37
to learn. These are great products. All
8:40
right. So, go to my site, run the
8:41
quotes, look at the look at the site,
8:44
download my books for free. One last
8:46
thing, spinning above my head is a
8:48
clock, and that magically will appear a
8:50
video that I did on, hey, all you
8:52
annuity haters, you already own an
8:53
annuity. You'll get a kick out of that.
8:55
I talk about social security, but I talk
8:57
about others that you might own as well
8:59
that you don't think you do. All right,
9:03
charitable gift annuities. That's uh you
9:06
might have learned something today and
9:07
you might thank me later because it is a
9:09
good strategy with good intentions and
9:13
guarantees. My name is Stan the annuity
9:16
man. See you next time.
