Amanda-Jo Wilt: Making The Most of Years You Have Left with "The Boomer Nutritionist"

IN THIS EPISODE, THE ANNUITY MAN AND AMANDA-JO WILT DISCUSS:
- Your most important asset
- Removing the barriers to health
- Weight acceptance and promoting health
- The problem with alcohol
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- Your overall most important asset is your health. Invest in it, or you’ll lose out on enjoying your retirement.
- The best way to achieve a healthy lifestyle is to get rid of the barriers and make it easier on yourself. Hiring a specialist to create the perfect meal plan for you is the simplest way you can do this.
- Your value doesn’t change depending on your weight. No matter how you are and what health struggle you’re going through, you are beautiful and important. However, make no mistake that obesity is a sickness, and it will impact how much or how little you will be able to enjoy your life in the long run.
- If you have goals for longevity and quality of life, you have to sit back, be honest, and assess yourself and your relationship with alcohol. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a glass, but it’s time to stop if you can see that you lack self-control.
"If your health span runs out before your lifespan runs out, all that saving you’ve put in for retirement is now vulnerable because instead of enjoying that, it’s all going toward medical costs. " — Amanda-Jo Wilt.

let's have some fun with annuities and
0:29
let's have that fun start right now
0:33
[Music]
0:39
welcome to fun with annuities i'm your
0:41
host stan the annuity man america's
0:44
annuity agent licensed in all 50 states
0:46
i am so glad you're here welcome to all
0:48
the people on the major podcast
0:49
platforms that are listening to us and
0:51
also the fun with annuities youtube
0:53
channel one of us on this program is
0:55
attractive the other one's not i'll give
0:57
you a guess who's not that would be me
0:59
um
1:00
but i'm really happy to have my guest on
1:02
today because it's kind of outside the
1:04
realm of
1:05
finances and and what i typically talk
1:08
about retirement but it's important it's
1:09
a cog in the wheel that you need to be
1:11
aware of
1:12
and um i'm so happy she's here her name
1:15
is amanda jo wilt wlt
1:19
and she has a website called the
1:22
boomer nutritionist all one word the
1:25
boomer nutritionist dot-com
1:28
and yes baby boomers out there you need
1:31
to you need to focus on nutrition before
1:33
i introduce her officially let me
1:36
um let me explain a couple of things
1:38
about why we're doing this um
1:41
i want everyone on my podcast platforms
1:44
to be educated and to think a little bit
1:46
outside the box you know we're always
1:48
talking about numbers i have retirement
1:49
planning specialists on but when i you
1:52
know i had my team try to find the top
1:54
one of the top nutritionists and i
1:56
talked to her and i just thought she
1:58
would be a great resource for everybody
2:00
but i'll i'll tell one quick story
2:03
um i have people all the time and you
2:05
know probably once every quarter i'll
2:07
have a person that says to me
2:10
you know what stan if i could give a
2:11
million dollars or five million dollars
2:12
just to feel good for a week i'd do that
2:14
you know i just don't feel good my
2:16
health isn't there
2:17
and that stuck with me and it's the
2:19
reason that amanda joe is on this
2:20
program because
2:22
as a baby boomer as you go into chapter
2:25
two of your life it's not just about
2:26
money and it's not just about
2:29
you know what you're gonna do and
2:30
whatever side hustle you're gonna do and
2:32
if you're playing pickleball or golf or
2:33
whatever
2:35
it's about feeling good and that's why
2:37
she's here so welcome to fun with
2:39
annuities amanda joe wilt welcome
2:42
hi thank you for having me uh
2:45
you you know you're really hitting all
2:47
the notes i'm not an investment person
2:50
when you think about finances and and
2:52
all of that
2:54
but there is a we need to be investing
2:56
in our health and
2:58
one of the things you know i've learned
3:00
about annuities is you know like
3:03
lifetime income right in my opinion now
3:06
i love annuities we want lifetime income
3:08
there's no better lifetime income than
3:11
your health
3:12
because if that runs out before your
3:15
lifespan runs out you know we have this
3:18
thought of health span versus lifespan
3:21
if your health fan runs out before your
3:24
lifespan runs out
3:26
all of that saving you all that work
3:28
you've put in for retirement
3:30
is now vulnerable because instead of
3:32
enjoying that it's all going towards
3:34
medical costs now yes we need to prepare
3:37
for
3:38
ill poor health as we age
3:40
but
3:41
what a great thing it would be if that
3:44
money could be redirected to more golf
3:46
trips rather than hospital bills
3:49
no doubt about it and and her site is
3:51
really a fun site i mean she she
3:53
actually has a um
3:55
obviously go there
3:56
the thtboomernutritionist.com
4:00
she she even does meal planning if you
4:01
wanted to do meal planning she can do
4:03
that for you she can help you along the
4:05
way you know you have a new annuity
4:06
consultants and you have
4:09
you know have general practitioners
4:11
i think as part of the team a
4:13
nutritionist isn't a bad thought because
4:16
you know coming out of covid amanda joe
4:19
i will tell you that
4:21
we all kind of went through this funk
4:23
where we said hey screw it i'm gonna eat
4:25
the i'm gonna eat the cheetos and i'm
4:27
gonna eat the cookies
4:28
and i think
4:30
as a whole the country gained weight
4:32
but we're coming out of that and i know
4:34
for myself i'm starting to get it back
4:36
together eat better exercise more
4:40
from a nutritionist standpoint
4:44
tell us about the hurdles that you see
4:46
people have not only just implementing
4:48
but maybe psychological to get over the
4:50
hump to even start
4:54
most people it comes down to
4:57
accessibility how accessible is
4:59
something to you right so if we want to
5:01
create new habits you need something in
5:03
your hands right so everyone consuming
5:07
your
5:08
podcast your videos they're typically
5:11
using their cell phone
5:12
maybe they're sitting behind a desktop
5:14
but it's right there they have the
5:16
resources right there and so that's
5:19
where our meal planning is different
5:22
we make it accessible to everyone so not
5:24
only price because
5:26
boomers are my target right my parents
5:28
are boomers and
5:30
my parents are still here my husband's
5:33
parents also boomers same age as my
5:35
parents they're both gone uh and they've
5:38
been gone now for a really long time and
5:41
i don't want
5:43
young
5:44
people like me and you know even older
5:47
people to have to sit and have these
5:49
conversations and explain to their kids
5:51
why aren't why aren't dad's grandma and
5:53
grandpa around you know and if we can
5:56
get meal planning into the hands
5:58
of
6:00
everyone
6:01
then
6:02
really that's the foundation of health
6:05
nutrition and so
6:07
with our meal planning you have an app
6:08
on your phone you can log all your meals
6:11
it prompts you what um recipes you need
6:14
to cook for that day what prep work you
6:16
maybe need to do the day before to keep
6:18
you on track you can log
6:20
your water intake all kinds of things
6:23
but not every boomer
6:25
wants to use an app on their phone
6:28
maybe they have
6:29
access to a computer a desktop and they
6:31
feel comfortable there
6:33
great we can send your meal plan there
6:34
you can use the um the program from your
6:37
desktop but then we go a step further
6:40
and to completely remove
6:42
all barriers we will send you
6:46
every week a seven day meal plan that
6:49
you can simply as long as you can access
6:51
email
6:52
open an attachment and click print
6:54
you're gonna have your seven day meal
6:56
plan it has your grocery list it has the
6:59
recipes and how to prepare them and it
7:01
tells you how much to eat and so really
7:05
it's
7:06
the best way to get people on track with
7:08
nutrition is to simply remove the
7:10
barriers
7:11
and what does that service cost so i'm
7:13
going to your site i see um i scroll
7:16
down it says explore our meal planning
7:19
and learn more how much does that
7:20
service cost
7:22
so most people in my industry kind of
7:24
can't believe that what we do
7:26
but it's 35
7:28
a month
7:29
and i don't know if anyone's gotten gas
7:31
recently but i'm pretty sure that's less
7:33
than a tank of gas
7:35
per month
7:36
and
7:38
it makes it a no-brainer it makes it
7:40
where
7:41
boomers who
7:43
maybe weren't able to plan as much as
7:46
they wanted for retirement can still
7:49
plug in the health equation because
7:51
maybe the the less finances that you'll
7:54
have available
7:56
as you're moving into that second stage
7:57
of life
7:58
your health is going to become all that
8:00
much more important so that the finances
8:02
you do have coming in aren't strained
8:05
and having to go towards medical bills
8:07
it'd be much more enjoyable for them to
8:09
be going towards
8:10
you know a good meal that you can enjoy
8:12
with your family and also
8:15
help teach the next generation
8:17
how to eat properly and how to plan for
8:20
longevity
8:22
now a lot of us baby boomers and i'm one
8:24
of them and we're on a lot of
8:26
prescription medications
8:28
out there um one of the things on your
8:30
site that popped at me was that
8:33
the the question could your
8:34
prescriptions be causing vitamin
8:37
deficiencies
8:38
can you go into that because that popped
8:41
out at me because you know i'm on blood
8:42
pressure and all this stuff you know i'm
8:44
one of those people
8:46
um
8:47
how does that how does that work and how
8:50
how can we solve those deficiencies or
8:52
at least know about them
8:55
so
8:57
not all doctors will inform you some
8:59
will
9:00
but there are known deficiencies that
9:03
occur because of different prescription
9:05
medications
9:06
um you know when we're ingesting
9:08
something
9:10
other chemicals in our body can get used
9:12
up at say a quicker rate uh to make
9:15
certain reactions happen uh that allow
9:17
those prescriptions to do the thing that
9:19
they need to do
9:20
um and so
9:22
really downloading that sheet it's
9:25
something i want everyone to print and
9:27
put on their fridge especially if they
9:28
take prescriptions so that they have a
9:30
reminder of hey maybe i should talk to
9:33
my doctor about taking this supplement
9:36
and what it comes down to is that
9:39
to make sure you have that solid bedrock
9:42
it's all in nutrition
9:44
if you're eating
9:45
a meal plan that is created specifically
9:47
for you because that's the other thing
9:49
we aren't taking a generic meal plan i'm
9:51
not
9:52
taking say hey here's 2 000 calories
9:55
we're going to send everybody the same
9:56
meal plan these are individualized to
9:59
you and your lifestyle you pick what
10:02
foods you enjoy maybe you only have a
10:04
microwave well put that you only have a
10:06
microwave you'll get recipes from
10:08
microwaves
10:09
and
10:11
this is going to help you
10:13
build that nutritional foundation so
10:15
that all of those hits you're taking
10:16
from your prescription medications are
10:18
mitigated a little bit
10:20
and then through one-on-one consulting
10:22
we can kind of dig a little bit deeper
10:24
and
10:25
see what
10:26
you know deficiencies you might have and
10:28
then help you find things to discuss
10:30
with your practitioner so you will do
10:32
one-on-one consulting if someone wants
10:34
to hire you for that as well correct
10:36
correct correct if they have um a meal
10:39
plan because
10:41
to be honest
10:42
if someone is not willing to invest 35
10:46
a month into ensuring that they have
10:48
access to a really good meal plan they
10:50
probably will not value my time
10:53
or the recommendations that i have for
10:55
them that might cost more
10:57
than five dollars so
10:58
we were talking with amanda jo wilt of
11:01
the boomer nutritionist.com superstar in
11:04
this field
11:05
she's her practice is growing i think
11:07
we're catching her early
11:09
as uh as she is being found out by
11:11
everybody and i want to promote it
11:12
because i you know i want my clients to
11:14
live forever um
11:16
how did you arrive here no one wakes up
11:19
in the morning and says i want to be a
11:20
nutritionist
11:21
how does how what tell us a little bit
11:23
about your journey and your path to this
11:26
obviously it's a passion for you
11:28
how did you get here
11:30
well
11:31
any time we get to a place not always
11:33
comfortable uh
11:35
uh growing up i was the kid ridden with
11:38
allergies and
11:40
migraines you know intestinal digestive
11:44
issues
11:45
acne you name it i had issues and i
11:48
thought wow this is life
11:50
like i'm young and and this is how i
11:52
feel all the time this isn't really fun
11:55
and
11:56
as i got older i started to realize hey
11:59
no this isn't normal
12:00
right so there has to be an answer my
12:02
body was created to heal let's heal this
12:04
thing so
12:06
i started learning about nutrition
12:08
and then things really took a turn of
12:12
acceleration whenever my husband and i
12:15
six months into our marriage found out
12:17
his father had stage four brain and lung
12:19
cancer
12:20
and we saw
12:22
he had been given three months to live
12:24
from the diagnosis
12:25
and they said that was with treatment
12:28
like if you're lucky he'll make it three
12:29
months and
12:31
we said no we're gonna make some changes
12:33
and he lived another six months and
12:34
those were some of the best days that my
12:36
husband had with his dad just being
12:38
close and getting to spend that time but
12:40
just simple changes in his nutrition
12:42
doubled what they had estimated his
12:44
lifespan would be
12:46
and
12:47
so he passed a little bit after our one
12:49
year anniversary and we were like okay
12:52
life's getting back to normal you kind
12:53
of you get past the grief and start
12:56
working on things and
12:58
then his mother was also diagnosed with
13:00
stage four brain and lung cancer
13:02
and it it was just too much and so
13:07
i didn't ever want to have to face this
13:10
again and not have answers for the
13:12
people that i love
13:14
and i knew those answers were in
13:15
nutrition and it started this whole
13:18
journey so it wasn't necessarily a
13:20
pretty
13:20
um
13:22
situation getting us here but a lot of
13:23
testimonies are that way
13:26
no it really is and that's that's a
13:27
that's a a good and heartbreaking story
13:30
at the same time but but it does explain
13:33
your passion for it i just pulled up the
13:36
um the download for the do this
13:38
prescriptions you take deplete your
13:40
nutritional status and if you go to our
13:42
site again we'll have a page for
13:45
amanda joe on
13:47
the annuityman.com just like we do with
13:49
all celebrity guests
13:50
it's worth downloading this because you
13:52
can just look at
13:54
you know
13:55
what it'll it'll show the prescription
13:58
it'll show it's just it's it's really
14:00
the best download i've seen in a long
14:02
long time because
14:04
it's so detailed
14:06
and at a minimum and everyone out there
14:09
nod your head you're all taking
14:10
something most of you if you're not you
14:12
know virtual high five
14:14
um you should at least know if it's if
14:16
it's depleting the vitamins
14:19
let's talk about vitamins for a second
14:21
because i've gone through personally you
14:22
know the the stage where i was a college
14:24
athlete and i was taking as many
14:25
vitamins as i could swallow to now i'm
14:28
taking limited amount of items based
14:30
upon what my general practitioner is
14:32
telling me
14:33
and it's getting ready to be what you're
14:35
telling me
14:36
what it what is your opinion about
14:37
vitamins in general and then let's dig
14:40
in further from there
14:42
well i don't want to offend
14:44
but go ahead go ahead uh
14:46
a lot of vitamins that you find say at
14:48
the grocery store junk overpriced junk
14:51
and i don't recommend them they are not
14:53
practitioner grade they are not
14:56
screened for toxins and
14:59
quality
15:01
they are
15:03
mass-produced bulk produced to
15:05
sell to the masses and they have vitamin
15:08
constituents in them that are not easily
15:11
and readily absorbed by your body
15:14
and so you're kind of just wasting your
15:16
money
15:17
and that's how i feel about most
15:19
supplements as far as the need to take
15:22
supplements
15:23
i do believe there is a need for that uh
15:26
and it's going to depend on each
15:28
individual because one person isn't on
15:30
the same prescriptions as another uh
15:33
there might be dietary restrictions for
15:35
one person that another doesn't have and
15:37
so they're prone to
15:39
um
15:40
certain deficiencies for example people
15:42
who choose to be
15:44
vegan they're missing out on a lot of
15:48
vitamin a that is animal based because
15:50
they are not consuming
15:53
eggs so they're not getting any of the
15:54
vitamin a from say an egg yolk well
15:57
they're at risk depending on different
15:59
genetic mutations they could or couldn't
16:01
have for vitamin a deficiency because
16:04
not everyone can convert
16:06
beta-carotene to the usable form of
16:09
vitamin a
16:10
and so it's just i i do i am a proponent
16:12
of supplements i have used them um on
16:15
myself i take them daily you know
16:17
different ones at different times
16:19
to accomplish the health goals that i
16:20
have and so i'm a big proponent as long
16:23
as they aren't a waste of money well and
16:25
that leads us to a portion of your site
16:28
i spent some time on today
16:30
and you you listed it listed as
16:32
practitioner grade supplements
16:35
can you can you dig in for for us and
16:37
give us a texas definition of that
16:40
you can't get it on the grocery store
16:42
shelf
16:43
that's the time
16:44
now where do you obviously you are
16:47
you can coordinate that and you have all
16:49
kinds of links etc but
16:51
give us the the background on and why
16:54
haven't
16:55
why isn't practitioner grade supplements
16:58
more of a of a phrase that we should we
17:00
know about i mean that's the first i've
17:02
ever read that and i've been ta i mean
17:04
i've put gnc in business for the for a
17:07
long long time and obviously taking
17:09
nonsense
17:10
but now you're saying practitioner grade
17:12
and that's what i want i mean in essence
17:14
you're saying hey go to the mayo go to
17:16
the mayo clinic go to the best get the
17:18
best
17:19
why is this the best
17:22
because they're
17:24
they're the high quality brands that you
17:26
cannot access as
17:29
just a regular person
17:31
you have to have someone
17:34
that is you know a nutritionist a
17:37
a doctor chiropractor someone that has
17:40
some type of credential to advise you in
17:43
getting these supplements
17:45
and there's a ton of brands now when you
17:48
go to the website if you want to access
17:50
the dispensary
17:52
of course everything went online now
17:54
right so we used to have an office and
17:55
we'd have you know this is my wall of
17:58
vitamins and this is what i'm
18:00
recommending to you today right no more
18:02
everything is online so even our vitamin
18:05
dispensaries are online
18:07
which allows access to
18:10
hundreds of brands
18:12
don't get me wrong there is a potential
18:14
that you will see a couple brands
18:16
in the dispensary that you can also find
18:18
at the grocery store
18:20
it doesn't mean i recommend those brands
18:22
uh so
18:24
it's
18:25
the whole practitioner grade thing
18:27
that's not great marketing
18:30
for
18:31
all of the other industries and
18:32
supplement makers who
18:34
just want
18:35
consumers and want everyone to have
18:37
access right so if they if they go and
18:40
they say no we only give our supplements
18:42
to practitioners or people who are in
18:45
the field of health and nutrition
18:47
they limit their sales and so it's kind
18:49
of more of a marketing thing i'll leave
18:51
that out who really needs it so
18:54
so if you're taking supplements you need
18:56
to be taking the right supplements that
18:57
seems common sense that
19:00
but for everyone out here including me
19:01
you're like okay where do i go
19:03
obviously we have a source now so you
19:05
know we go to your site we sign up that
19:07
i think you got to create account an
19:09
account for that
19:10
and then based upon the consultation
19:13
you'll say well you know you might want
19:15
to take this this this and this
19:17
um
19:19
is that how the process works
19:21
yes basically and so once someone has a
19:24
meal planning subscription
19:26
they
19:27
will have access when i send out the
19:30
links to book appointments so there's a
19:32
private calendar
19:33
for the discounted one-on-one
19:35
appointment got it we ask that that
19:37
calendar is not shared uh because
19:39
when they book an appointment
19:41
uh
19:42
the day of the appointment we check to
19:45
make sure that you do have an active
19:46
meal planning subscription and if you
19:48
don't your meal plan is
19:50
the the consultation is cancelled uh and
19:53
then from there
19:55
we'll review kind of your medical
19:57
history we'll talk about your goals
19:58
what's going on how the previous months
20:01
of your meal planning have been going do
20:04
you feel successful how do you need
20:05
support how are you feeling
20:08
do we need to make changes
20:10
then we will typically look at
20:12
you know you can potentially order some
20:14
blood work if we're wanting to really
20:16
drill down and see if there are certain
20:18
deficiencies going on
20:20
we can review all these and what i can
20:23
do is i can make a recommendation and i
20:25
can say hey you know evidence shows
20:28
this why don't you take this your
20:30
practitioner and discuss it with them
20:33
you can take this evidence to them say
20:35
hey i've been working with a
20:36
nutritionist
20:37
these are her thoughts what are yours um
20:40
and that way
20:42
everybody's involved in your care and
20:44
everyone kind of is on the same page and
20:46
so that's the process for that
20:49
i think it's interesting what you've
20:50
done which is
20:52
there's a level of foundation that a
20:54
person needs to show to you which is the
20:57
meal planning they have to say okay
20:59
i'm not going to skip to the front of
21:01
the line and just take the supplements
21:02
because you're like no no that's not how
21:04
it works
21:05
you have to get the meal planning then
21:06
we talk about the supplements then we
21:09
add but the meal planning is the
21:10
foundation
21:12
obviously that's the hardest thing to do
21:13
right but it's the foundation
21:16
to all of the other services that you
21:19
provide is that correct
21:21
that is correct and it's because we
21:23
don't want to
21:25
continue
21:27
with the kind of western medicine
21:31
this is my symptom just give me a
21:32
band-aid
21:34
because that's all we're doing and you
21:35
can do the exact same thing kind of that
21:37
allopathic model you can do that with
21:40
supplements
21:42
i
21:43
have someone come in hey i'm stressed
21:45
hey i've got this going on what can i do
21:47
to make myself feel better
21:49
maybe get more sleep
21:51
maybe eat better you know there's all
21:53
these different lifestyle things that we
21:55
need to be doing and need to be
21:56
addressing i think nutrition is a
21:58
foundational part of that
22:00
before we start moving into spending
22:03
money and resources on supplements
22:06
and so it's the kind of thing that's
22:08
like you need to take the time to just
22:10
do your best to
22:13
drill in some meal planning
22:15
and even if it's one or two meals a week
22:18
right that's great that's great you
22:20
prepared them at home they're easy
22:23
and
22:24
you're making progress and so it doesn't
22:26
have to necessarily be all or nothing
22:28
right we don't perfectionism is the
22:30
enemy when it comes to meal planning we
22:32
all have our days um but that's where
22:34
our app
22:35
really makes a huge difference uh in
22:38
keeping it easy it is really really easy
22:42
and everything you're saying is you know
22:44
everyone's slapping their cells in the
22:45
head going yeah yes i need to do that i
22:47
need to get started
22:49
um what i like about what amanda jo has
22:52
put together is she's going to be
22:54
standing right right beside you
22:56
and going to be that consultant that you
22:58
need
22:59
to say yeah just let's keep going let's
23:01
keep getting better um and i think with
23:04
the boomers and there's 10 000 baby
23:05
boomers hitting age 65 every single day
23:08
and one of the things that i run into
23:10
because i handle the money side of it
23:12
obviously the annuity side is people are
23:14
focused on the money and that becomes
23:15
their part-time job their part-time job
23:17
is managing the assets and getting the
23:19
lawyers and the accountants and the
23:20
trust and all that stuff together
23:22
and making sure that the legacy plans in
23:24
place etc
23:26
what i'm encouraging people on this and
23:27
i hope you're listening
23:30
to us
23:31
is maybe this is part of what you do as
23:33
well you know obviously exercise is very
23:35
good
23:36
as part of your plan but nutrition
23:39
is is a big one and i think it's um
23:41
something that's been lost on
23:43
during the education process obviously
23:45
in the public schools um they used to
23:47
teach the pyramid of whether you agree
23:49
with the pyramid of food and whether
23:51
that makes sense or not but they don't
23:52
really do that
23:54
anymore and you know the obesity rate in
23:57
this country is staggering
23:59
can you comment a little bit about pop
24:02
culture and where we're headed as a
24:03
society if we don't get our arms around
24:05
this
24:07
pop culture
24:08
i don't know much about pop culture i'm
24:11
probably the most disconnected person we
24:14
like i i don't have social media
24:16
accounts i i don't spend my time in that
24:20
realm i do see it from the health side
24:23
so i know the certain things that you're
24:24
talking about you know kind of
24:27
there's
24:28
become some confusion between the body
24:31
positivity movement
24:33
and promoting health and so
24:36
one of the things that i see is kind of
24:37
this encouragement to accept yourself
24:40
how you are and and everything's okay
24:43
and that's
24:44
fine yes wherever you're at whatever
24:47
your health struggles may be whatever
24:49
you rate your weight may be
24:50
you're beautiful you're you're valued
24:52
you're important
24:54
the issue is is
24:56
we want you to be around for a long time
24:58
and so for your value to be expressed to
25:02
the world for you to make your impact
25:04
here we need your lifespan to be as long
25:06
as possible and with that is going to go
25:11
some
25:12
lifestyle changes and practices that
25:14
that might lead to you losing some
25:16
weight and coming out of that obesity
25:18
category um even though your value
25:21
doesn't change
25:22
depending on your weight
25:25
it it allows you to be here with us
25:27
longer and that's what we need and
25:29
that's what
25:30
boomers you know your children and your
25:32
grandchildren need
25:33
the closer you are to your ideal weight
25:36
the
25:38
healthier life you're going to have the
25:39
more enjoyable you know your quality of
25:41
life is going to be better
25:43
and you're going to be playing with the
25:44
grandkids running around with the
25:45
grandkids rather than just watching the
25:48
grandkids from afar
25:50
and
25:51
yes the obesity epidemic
25:54
is it's tragic
25:56
but it's all rooted in lifestyle and we
25:59
really can just in simple ways
26:01
make changes that'll that'll combat that
26:04
i was reading an article today before
26:06
just doing some research for what what
26:08
we were going to talk about and somebody
26:11
had written a really good article about
26:12
that diabetes 2 diabetes in general but
26:14
the diabetes 2 people that are
26:16
pre-diabetes pre-diabetics
26:19
is really
26:20
a tidal wave of problems getting ready
26:22
to happen in this country now i i i'm a
26:25
pre-diabetic i mean i'm that person i
26:27
have to watch what i eat
26:29
um and i can't you know being from the
26:32
south i'm originally from north carolina
26:33
and just she's from
26:35
amanda joe's from texas so you know we
26:37
start with desserts in a lot of cases
26:39
but um
26:41
have you found with your nutritional
26:42
plans and in your consultations with
26:45
people that
26:46
you know you're certainly not a doctor
26:48
but have you seen
26:50
really positive effects on people that
26:52
are pre-diabetic once they get locked
26:55
and loaded with your strategies
26:58
yes and
27:00
um
27:01
to
27:03
hopefully my husband will not mind me
27:05
sharing a little bit of information but
27:07
we recently went through an issue so
27:10
diabetes has has run in his the male
27:12
side of his family
27:14
and i run blood work on us so many times
27:17
a year to check different things uh and
27:20
his most recent blood sugar numbers i
27:23
said uh-huh not going to cut it i'm
27:26
about to say that you're in the
27:27
pre-diabetic range now of course i
27:29
wasn't diagnosing him i don't have that
27:31
ability
27:32
but had he gone to a doctor and the
27:34
doctor looked at it he might have said a
27:36
similar statement and
27:38
so i was like hey look we've got to get
27:40
this sorted out
27:42
and i need you to be eating this way and
27:44
that's the thing you know he's even he's
27:46
married to me the boomer nutritionist
27:48
and he still doesn't always follow the
27:51
meal plan but when i'm i put it back in
27:53
his hand and i'm like hey
27:56
please do this
27:58
we're out of that range we're he's
27:59
completely he's not anywhere near
28:02
pre-diabetic anymore you know i'm
28:05
completely happy with the numbers and
28:06
each morning you know he's checking his
28:09
fasting glucose i'll be having him check
28:11
his hba um 1c here soon um
28:15
and
28:16
i'm confident it'll be fine and so it's
28:19
just kind of seeing those personal
28:20
results because it's always
28:23
oh yeah i have a client this or client
28:25
that no my husband
28:28
who had numbers i did not think were
28:30
appropriate is now back in a completely
28:32
healthy range but it you have you just
28:34
have to know about it and so that's part
28:36
of it knowing
28:38
that you're there and having that moment
28:40
with yourself where you say
28:42
do i want to go down the diabetes road
28:44
or do i want to make some changes yeah
28:47
a1c numbers do not lie they are what
28:49
they are you can't massage them you have
28:51
to address them or they don't go away in
28:54
other words you cannot go to the doctor
28:56
or not get the test and you know
28:58
that's your call but what i'm hoping
29:00
this podcast does is say hey yes i'm i'm
29:03
putting together a lifetime income
29:05
stream yes i've got my income floor yes
29:07
i've got everything in proportion
29:09
and i've probably let myself go a little
29:11
bit because i've worked so hard to get
29:12
there now it's time to focus on you
29:15
now it's time to who do i i think one of
29:17
the biggest issues with people out there
29:18
is who do i go to who do i trust who who
29:22
who has it who's made it simple and
29:24
that's when we found you were like this
29:26
is the person because
29:27
my a personality the client base out
29:29
there and people that listen to me
29:31
you know they're
29:33
they're
29:34
they're go getters and they want to be
29:36
able to do it themselves but they also
29:37
want someone that they can trust which
29:39
is the reason
29:40
i really like what you put together
29:41
again it's theboomernutritionist.com
29:44
i was going to ask you this is a little
29:45
bit off topic on nutrition but i think
29:47
it correlates
29:49
a good uh it's a good friend he was on a
29:52
podcast his name's jamie hopkins he's
29:54
one of the thought leaders in the
29:55
retirement income space and he said
29:57
forget return on investment it needs to
29:59
be returned on sleep
30:01
and i've listened to and done some
30:03
research on sleep and someone who
30:05
struggled with sleeping and because i'm
30:08
always running my brain's always moving
30:10
for people out there that said yes mine
30:11
too
30:13
how does sleep factor in or does it does
30:16
it start solving itself as they follow
30:19
your plan
30:22
it's something that you do have to
30:24
caution consciously work on okay so
30:28
proper nutrition eating it you know
30:30
stable meal times
30:32
it's going to keep your blood sugar
30:34
balanced well when your blood sugar is
30:36
more balanced you're going to have fewer
30:38
spikes and cortisol or your adrenaline
30:41
right and so you're going to become more
30:43
mellow well what that can help is it can
30:45
help you wind down in the evenings
30:47
better and so through meal planning
30:49
through a nutrition plan
30:51
you're
30:52
you're keeping that stable line so that
30:54
whenever you get to your evening it's
30:56
not oh i was up here and now i'm trying
30:59
to come back down here and go to sleep
31:01
um that doesn't work
31:02
and
31:04
you know and so it's like go go go go
31:06
and then okay let's sleep i don't think
31:07
so it's not going to happen uh you need
31:09
the adrenaline to come down
31:11
that's where in the evening having some
31:14
carbohydrates uh you know because people
31:16
have different plans right a lot of
31:18
people like to do low carb or low carb
31:20
high fat you know mediterranean diets
31:22
whatever having that extra little bit of
31:24
carbs sometimes in the evening if you
31:26
have a hard time getting to sleep and
31:28
kind of need to calm your adrenals down
31:30
a little bit more carbohydrates will
31:32
contribute to kind of calming those
31:34
adrenals and helping you sleep um
31:37
and
31:37
so
31:39
the other thing the other side of it is
31:41
we have noticed i mean
31:42
my husband has an example and you can
31:45
read this with
31:46
anecdotally from many people who've kind
31:49
of monitored their blood sugar a poor
31:51
night's sleep you will wake up with a
31:54
very high fasting blood glucose level
31:57
and
31:59
it's like whoa what happened i was 15 or
32:01
20 points lower the day before what
32:04
happened was you didn't get any sleep
32:06
and your body is still in high cortisol
32:08
freakout mode
32:10
and if you can't break that cycle you're
32:12
really going to have detrimental things
32:14
happening to your health
32:16
that's
32:17
hcfom high cortisol freak out mode
32:20
that's the acronym for that
32:24
which i like um
32:26
eating late at night why do we want to
32:27
do that why why do i want to grab the
32:29
box of cheetos at 10 30 and and start
32:32
eating those why is that likely it's
32:34
stress almost like you know
32:36
stress blood sugar swings
32:39
habits a lot of times we do things habit
32:41
comforts especially if it's a comfort
32:43
food
32:44
um there's there's a lot of reasons and
32:47
you know here
32:49
you know the boomer nutritionist my goal
32:52
is to help you kind of
32:54
change your longevity trajectory right
32:57
so we have this i hope that everyone
32:59
would go to the website and look at the
33:01
graphs there we have they will i promise
33:03
you yes what i call the sad longevity
33:07
trajectory and the happy one and
33:11
uh it's
33:12
it's a very important thing for people
33:14
to kind of consider and
33:16
yeah we won't we want happy i mean
33:18
that's what we want
33:20
for sure but happy doesn't happen
33:23
unless you're feeling good
33:25
yeah kind of another out of the lane
33:27
question but you know when you're on fun
33:29
with annuities it's kind of a
33:30
free-for-all you know that amanda joe i
33:31
told you that she goes uh before she
33:33
goes what's what's all the questions i'm
33:35
like i'm not sure yet no i actually have
33:36
written them down but i i want to um
33:40
kind of free form it because we've
33:41
gotten a lot out of here that i didn't
33:42
even know we were going to go down the
33:44
road one of the things i want to talk to
33:45
you about
33:46
is fasting which is seems to be a lot of
33:49
books written on fasting i've read some
33:51
of them
33:52
um
33:53
even my general practitioners
33:56
want you to fast like they say stan
33:58
don't eat after six and you know fast
34:00
for 12 hours a day or fast for 15 hours
34:02
a day
34:04
what's your thoughts on that
34:07
fasting is wonderful
34:09
uh it's
34:11
it's something that your body okay so
34:13
breakfast right then we get the word
34:15
from it's it's the meal that breaks the
34:17
fast right so we're all we normally fast
34:20
overnight
34:22
and
34:23
it gives our body a ton the time it
34:25
needs to repair because the majority of
34:28
our energy during the day it goes
34:31
towards digestion so when you eat a big
34:33
meal your body that's why you can't even
34:35
get that afternoon slump after lunch
34:37
where you're tired all the blood all the
34:40
energy is going to your gut it's like oh
34:42
hey we gotta digest this and get the
34:44
nutrients into our blood
34:47
well that robs everything else you know
34:49
so when you need to have cellular repair
34:52
say you you your immune system needs to
34:54
be on guard because you have come in
34:57
close contact with a virus or bacteria
35:00
if your body is still stuck working on
35:03
digestion
35:05
it's gonna be like sorry can't fight
35:06
that right now i'm too busy over here
35:09
and i don't have enough energy to spare
35:10
and so giving our body that break
35:13
it comes down to the cellular level
35:15
where you can get autophagy so you get
35:17
this kind of
35:18
um
35:19
poor cell cells that need to just go on
35:21
their way because they aren't really
35:22
doing the good stuff anymore will die
35:24
they'll kind of self-destruct and that
35:27
creates the room for healthy new cells
35:30
and you know health when it comes down
35:32
to it
35:33
cellular health is the foundation of
35:36
everything and so that's why we always
35:38
turn to nutrition
35:39
because what are you feeding your cells
35:42
your cells are what's going to create
35:43
what your body feels like looks like and
35:46
so fasting is great now there's always
35:49
caveats if someone struggles with an
35:52
eating disorder anorexia yeah honey you
35:55
can't we're not going to recommend
35:56
fasting to you because first you're
35:58
needing to overcome
36:00
some different struggles before we can
36:02
go there so
36:03
it's all very individualized and it is
36:06
something that's important say if
36:07
someone is diabetic and they are on
36:09
hormone or some type of other medication
36:13
they do need to really monitor
36:15
themselves and not just all of a sudden
36:17
say i'm going to fast for 24 hours i'm
36:18
going to fast for 16 hours and they keep
36:21
taking their medication the way they had
36:23
been when they were eating they could
36:25
end up with dangerously low blood sugar
36:26
and so
36:28
it's good it can be dangerous um it all
36:31
just depends on your circumstances and
36:33
obviously you know we're we're
36:34
pontificating here a little bit you need
36:36
to see your doctor
36:38
and talk with them about that but
36:39
wouldn't it be a neat thing to walk into
36:40
your doctor and say you know what
36:42
amanda jo at uh the boomer nutritionist
36:45
i'm working with her as well on my
36:47
nutritional plan my meal plan
36:49
i guarantee you 100 of your doctors will
36:52
go excellent thank you
36:54
amanda joe i will tell you i'm very
36:56
transparent about all this i i had my
36:58
aha dug no brainer slap the head moment
37:01
when you said bret breakfast and then
37:02
broke down what it meant i'm like oh
37:04
yeah it's breaking the fast i'm like
37:07
yeah but i don't know why i didn't put
37:09
that together but you know laugh about
37:11
it i'm from the south i'm from north
37:12
carolina you know we're just and down
37:14
here we say breakfast sometimes anyways
37:17
breakfast breakfast breakfast all right
37:20
let's go into some really
37:22
controversial topics here amanda joe
37:24
okay
37:25
alcohol
37:29
so
37:30
[Music]
37:32
they are calories
37:34
they could be fun calories
37:38
uh
37:38
by the way stop for a second
37:40
transparency i'm very honest about who i
37:42
am
37:43
um as of this uh october of this year
37:46
will be my 18th year of sobriety
37:49
i have a tendency not to do anything in
37:50
moderation as everyone knows i'm all in
37:53
so that happened with the drinking i
37:55
thought heck if you were going to have
37:56
six beers why not have 18.
37:58
um but you know that that can only can
38:00
go so far right
38:02
yes i'm a proud recovering
38:05
heavy drinker but i
38:07
obviously i wouldn't be here if i was
38:08
continuing to do that but let's go back
38:11
to the alcohol conundrum of you know
38:13
there are people that can enjoy alcohol
38:15
and it's great
38:16
but it can be a problem right it can be
38:20
a problem and
38:22
um
38:23
there's a different problems that come
38:25
with it and different types of alcohol
38:27
can cause different things for different
38:28
people and so
38:30
in the nutrition world there's a common
38:33
um topic of histamine intolerance right
38:36
so
38:37
most of your i guarantee most people
38:39
have not heard of this uh that will be
38:41
listening to this podcast but sometimes
38:43
when people eat or they drink some
38:45
alcohol maybe they'll get this red
38:46
flushing all through their face um
38:49
and that can be a reaction to the
38:51
histamines
38:52
so
38:53
not only are you having kind of the
38:56
issue with alcohol because
38:58
one drink of alcohol
39:01
you know they say that's moderate
39:03
whatever that's great if if that's you
39:05
and you enjoy a glass of wine and in the
39:07
evening to flying down wonderful these
39:10
are your decisions to make sure if you
39:12
can't seem to have the one glass and it
39:14
turns into the whole bottle or more well
39:17
then you really are
39:19
jeopardizing your health goals and so
39:21
it's not to pass judgment one way or the
39:23
other you do you but if you have
39:26
goals for longevity
39:28
and for quality of life you really do
39:31
have to sit back and be honest with
39:33
yourself and assess where you're at
39:35
having a drink or mimosa out with the
39:37
girls for lunch or brunch whatever
39:40
great enjoy your mimosa
39:43
if you get 12 mimosas well then you kind
39:45
of just consumed all of your calories
39:48
that's what i would do i mean i'd go and
39:50
just say just bring six and then bring
39:52
me another six we're good yeah yeah no
39:54
that's not that's not but i think i
39:55
think baby boomers and obviously i'm not
39:58
going to reveal my age but i'm not i'm
40:00
not young anymore amanda joe anyway
40:02
um as you get older you just realize and
40:05
i don't drink anymore but
40:07
you just can't go at it like you used to
40:09
and i know people say of course dan what
40:11
do you think
40:13
but
40:13
you still do you're still going at it a
40:16
lot of you out there
40:17
and what i'm hoping is you realize that
40:20
if kovitt didn't do just realize that
40:22
life is short if kova didn't do one
40:23
thing
40:24
good it did this
40:26
it it made us realize in a very
40:30
in your face fashion the fragility of
40:32
life
40:33
and not to get sappy about it and i had
40:35
three friends die
40:36
in my age group of covid
40:39
so it really hit home close to me
40:43
but it made me also go you know what
40:45
who knows when we're going to die no one
40:47
knows when we're going to die but if i
40:49
have anything to do with it to prevent
40:51
that then i'm going to try like heck and
40:54
coming out of a about a year and a half
40:56
of not giving a crap i'm now back on
40:59
on the uh the path and and discipline
41:02
doing the exercise in the diet
41:04
and um subscribing to amanda joe's meal
41:07
plan so
41:08
um that's getting ready to happen that
41:10
is getting ready to happen i you know
41:12
what's interesting about this podcast is
41:14
i'm learning a lot more about your
41:16
business model and it's so
41:18
more intricate than i than i thought in
41:20
my apologies and congrats to you and
41:22
kudos to you because it's a lot more
41:24
than just it's it's meal plan it's it's
41:26
one-on-one consulting it's looking at
41:28
your supplements it's everything
41:31
it's everything and working side by side
41:34
with your doctor go ahead yes well i'm
41:36
just saying we try we try to
41:40
assist people what's what use is all the
41:42
knowledge that i've accumulated unless
41:44
it's going to help people and so
41:47
there's it's not i don't just have
41:48
information about nutrition i have
41:50
information on
41:52
but you know many other things and the
41:55
great thing about this is the way that
41:56
it's structured
41:58
is that you can be as involved or as
42:02
disconnected as you want to be and so
42:05
whenever you sign up for meal planning
42:07
you get coaching emails over the next
42:10
the following 22 weeks so about half a
42:12
year of coaching emails that just kind
42:15
of function you to think about certain
42:18
things
42:19
and guide you on lifestyle changes and
42:23
you have
42:24
either your pdf for your phone or your
42:26
desktop to access your meal planning and
42:29
you don't have to talk to me you don't
42:31
even have to deal with me you don't have
42:33
to feel like there's some type of
42:34
pressure if you're on again off again
42:37
with it it's okay because you know that
42:39
the resource is always there at your
42:41
fingertips and you don't have anyone
42:43
judging you or condemning you because oh
42:46
hey last week you didn't log your meal
42:48
plan on the other side of that if you
42:51
want to
42:52
chat with me
42:54
get that extra accountability
42:56
have a more in-depth plan then you can
42:58
be connected with me and so
43:01
again
43:02
people get that white coat syndrome even
43:04
with a nutritionist i don't wear white
43:06
coats
43:07
but
43:08
people just kind of get this hesitancy
43:10
but to know that they can access this
43:11
and access meal planning
43:13
truly without having to do with me like
43:15
ever like no office visit or anything
43:18
it just makes it even more accessible
43:20
and it kind of calms the nerves of
43:22
people who are a little hesitant
43:25
going to step on the soapbox real quick
43:27
and then i'm going to ask you a question
43:28
after that i thought covid provided the
43:31
ultimate opportunity for the government
43:32
to
43:33
step in and say yes let's take care of
43:35
ourselves yes less social distance yes
43:37
let's wear masks whatever that means but
43:40
start exercising start eating better
43:43
start taking care of yourself that was
43:44
never said
43:45
as a preventative
43:47
measure to covet and in general
43:50
overall health i think that was a missed
43:53
opportunity i don't know why
43:56
that didn't happen but with that being
43:58
said
44:00
the future of nutritional education
44:03
um do you see that improving or is it
44:06
still going to be like pushing a rope
44:08
to get that done in this country
44:12
if you empower people
44:15
to make their own decisions and be
44:17
accountable for their own health and
44:19
lifestyle
44:21
they can't play a victim card anymore
44:23
and that may be
44:26
a little prickly for some people to hear
44:29
but
44:31
the government love them hate them
44:33
whatever
44:35
they
44:36
it's easier if you kind of you know
44:38
comply
44:40
right
44:41
anytime we
44:43
decide i'm going to do this and you know
44:45
we find that
44:46
that internal will and kind of
44:48
self-power that's not necessarily
44:50
something governments enjoy
44:52
um
44:53
and
44:54
so i don't know i think that nutrition
44:56
education is something that's going to
44:58
have to be for those who seek it i don't
45:00
think it's going to be something that's
45:02
provided because honestly a lot of the
45:04
nutrition information that has been
45:06
provided and
45:09
it irritates me because the boomers it
45:11
breaks my heart
45:12
because the boomer generation
45:15
y'all have been the generation most
45:17
affected by the poor nutrition
45:19
recommendations provided by our
45:22
government this whole low-fat no fat
45:25
craze replace the fat with sugar
45:28
look at where we are and say over 65 of
45:31
the population is overweight or obese so
45:35
you know that's a problem now are they
45:38
going to go back and say oh hey we've
45:40
misguided you and you should have kept
45:42
eating the fat no and we should have
45:45
avoided the sugar but these guys lobbied
45:47
us to tell you otherwise
45:50
sorry you know but their retirement is
45:53
fat you know what i mean and so
45:55
it's just
45:57
it's irritating um
45:59
and people are really gonna have to
46:00
understand they need to take
46:02
accountability um for their own health
46:06
uh because you're your best advocate
46:09
and
46:10
that's where you need to get educated
46:12
and it breaks my heart to see some of
46:14
these um inner city or lower income
46:16
areas where they call them food deserts
46:18
and only thing there would be
46:20
fast food and junk food and and and
46:22
convenience store food processed food
46:25
whatever
46:26
um what's your take on just processed
46:29
food you know the the stuff that has the
46:31
shelf life i mean do you avoid that or
46:33
obviously you if you eat it you eat it
46:35
in moderation
46:36
but um i'm assuming you're an advocate
46:38
of of if people can afford it most
46:40
people on this podcast probably can
46:42
because they're they're they're worried
46:44
about their money so they have a little
46:45
bit
46:46
um are you advocating
46:48
you know
46:50
buying from the outside of the aisles
46:51
not the inside of the aisles of the
46:52
grocery store yes
46:55
we all
46:57
have those times where we need
46:58
convenience foods and so
47:01
it's not realistic
47:03
mine's krispy kreme donuts by the way if
47:05
you're keeping score
47:06
you know
47:08
that's
47:08
mine you're gonna find like an organic
47:11
gluten-free doughnut of those three
47:13
there's good you're gonna have the
47:14
krispy kreme just go for it no i haven't
47:17
i have them in my head now i never have
47:19
them but i i
47:20
i think about when i used to have them
47:23
they were fantastic but go ahead um but
47:25
yes
47:26
whole foods and and that's the thing so
47:29
in these food deserts
47:31
one of the really cool things about this
47:33
app
47:34
you can
47:35
say there's a meal and you're out
47:37
driving around or you're in a place that
47:39
there really are no restaurants you're
47:41
not gonna be able to prepare a meal
47:42
things haven't gone as planned or
47:43
whatever you can swap but one of the
47:46
things you can do is just click swap
47:49
and then you can swap it to a restaurant
47:52
meal so a map will pop up showing you
47:55
the restaurants around you and gives you
47:58
the meat the menus of those restaurants
48:00
so say a chick-fil-a or whoever pops up
48:03
and it'll say okay you have an allotment
48:05
of 600 calories for this meal
48:08
and
48:09
you can it'll show you okay
48:11
get the nuggets and you can get the
48:13
salad and you will stay within your
48:16
recommendation and you just replace that
48:18
meal in the app it calculates everything
48:20
for you and so you don't ever have to
48:22
calculate calories that's the other
48:23
great thing about this you don't have to
48:25
um keep up with that it just tells you a
48:28
meal to prepare you prepare it according
48:30
to how it says or you replace the
48:32
restaurant meal that is equivalent
48:34
and it does all the population for you
48:37
so
48:38
you know when it comes to these food
48:40
deserts
48:41
maybe all that's around is a subway or
48:43
something along those lines
48:45
it doesn't matter you can
48:47
find okay if subway's all i've got
48:49
that's nearby what do i need to be
48:51
eating to to benefit the most and you
48:54
can make it work is what you're saying
48:56
yeah you can uh and another really cool
48:59
thing
49:00
say mama bear is like i'm gonna get
49:03
healthy and i need to put all this
49:04
information in for myself
49:06
she can then go in and add additional
49:09
family members and we don't charge for
49:11
that we don't charge for you to put in
49:13
an additional family member
49:15
so wives husbands maybe you want to get
49:18
on the plan
49:19
and you just want to account for your
49:22
spouse to be there for dinner you can
49:24
include them you put their name their
49:26
information
49:27
you select dinner and then they will be
49:29
automatically populated in your meal
49:31
planning nice uh and so then it'll tell
49:34
you okay at dinner time you make this
49:37
recipe you get half he gets half uh or
49:41
whatever it is or
49:42
you know a mom mom gets a quarter dad
49:45
gets a quarter and then the other half
49:46
goes for the four children that you put
49:48
in i mean you can just put in however
49:49
many you need and it helps you to batch
49:51
prepare
49:52
uh so it's a really cool thing now this
49:54
app is downloadable on your site or do
49:57
you have to go to itunes or what how do
49:59
you do this
50:00
so once you sign up for the meal
50:03
planning we send and we
50:05
we have an intake form so we have a form
50:07
where you're going to have to give me
50:08
some information it's not super in-depth
50:10
because we're trying to keep it
50:12
accessible and keep it easy and not
50:14
scare anyone away but you know basic
50:17
name email height weight sure what's
50:19
your goal kind of thing and then we will
50:22
send you the link and it is on um in
50:26
your app store on your phone so
50:28
whichever whether your android or iphone
50:30
you can find it there sure uh and then
50:32
we will also send you
50:34
the website to bookmark so that you can
50:36
log in there if you um
50:39
choose to which we we encourage everyone
50:41
to use both um unless you're just
50:44
getting the pdfs and you're not really
50:46
computer oriented or whatever um or
50:48
maybe you're wanting to do this for a
50:50
relative maybe you want to get your
50:52
grandma
50:53
on a meal plan but you know she's not
50:55
tech savvy sign her up we can email you
50:58
or email her the
51:00
um the meal plans each week you print
51:03
them for her and say hey grams you know
51:05
this is what you need to go back at the
51:06
store or i can help you with these meals
51:08
so there's it's really amazing you can
51:11
even add a guest so if you have a guest
51:14
coming over for one meal for dinner
51:16
and you want to make sure you have
51:17
enough ingredients and everybody eats
51:19
properly you just add a guest in it
51:21
calculates the serving for them uh and
51:24
then you can remove them afterwards
51:26
gonna have to get used to portion sizes
51:28
right i mean portion size in this
51:30
country has gone haywire yeah how was
51:32
that i was at a restaurant recently in
51:34
las vegas with my team that's where our
51:36
offices are based
51:38
and um they brought out the meal and i'm
51:40
not kidding you we all just looked at
51:42
the plate and went oh my goodness who
51:44
can eat that we literally at that time
51:46
said go ahead and bring a box because
51:48
there's no there there's no way but
51:51
um
51:52
this has been fascinating it's time has
51:54
flown by
51:56
um
51:57
there's one entry fee for this it's a 35
52:00
a month meal plan
52:02
and if you can't do that then you're not
52:04
all in you know you're not you're not
52:06
serious about this
52:07
join me on this quest i'm going to do
52:10
this i'm going to do this
52:12
with amanda joe
52:14
and she's going to guide me to
52:17
being even more vibrant than i am if you
52:19
can believe that but i'm gonna do that
52:20
so 35
52:22
a month for the meal plan and then once
52:24
you get the meal plan
52:26
the boomer nutritionist doors which are
52:28
huge open up for you
52:31
and you walk into some of the best
52:33
information of all time so
52:36
i mean i just think this has been
52:38
fantastic and and we're going to have
52:40
you back on and do some updates since
52:42
i'm going to be on the plan with you and
52:44
we're
52:44
you're either going to yell at me or
52:46
tell me i'm wonderful
52:47
either way i can take it but um i really
52:50
